一些个人观点：
中国古代君子的最高境界是：物格，致知，诚意，正心，修身，齐家，治国，平天下。这些都是层层递进的，做不到前者就到不了更高的层次。
辜鸿铭其人，格物致知的本事自然是好的，在意诚上也说得通，毕竟他有自己的主张和看法，并且能够坚持下来。
但正心这点就不行了：这心指的是为百姓谋福祉，为民族开通途，为苍生扫阴霾的坚定信念。辜在这些方面都做得不好，甚至可以说倒行逆施。
只有过了前四关的才可以称为真君子，所以辜只能算是个假君子，或者叫小文人。其学说可取的地方则取之，不可取的地方就批判之，不用心存疑虑。至于有些人要把他升华到某种高度，那是别有用心的。
